[GatewayPundit] Ilhan Omar Defends Herself From Adultery Charge With Quran Verse Calling for Flogging of Those Who Falsely Accuse "Chaste Women"
Absolutely amazingly predictable
That escalated quickly. Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) found herself in hot water on Twitter Tuesday with her reaction to President Trump warning the next two weeks would be "very painful" in the COVID-19 Chinese coronavirus crisis. Omar posted an Islamic saying, "Subhanallah!" that some interpreted as praise, rather than an expression of shock.

Omar quickly added a clarification, "Islamophobes, this is the same as "good god"
Subhanallah! https://t.co/MysfOONOw4

👀 Islamophobes, this is the same as "good god".
---------
"Nor come nigh to fornication/adultery: for it is a shameful (deed) and an evil, opening the road (to other evils)."
â€â€‰Qur'an, Sura 17 (Al-Isra), ayat 3
†Retawa Agnihotri (@RetwaA) April 1, 2020

-----------------
"And those who accuse chaste women, and produce not four witnesses, flog them with eighty stripes, and reject their testimony forever. They indeed are the Faasiqoon (liars, rebellious, disobedient to Allah)"

[al-Noor 24:4].

†Ilhan Omar (@IlhanMN) April 1, 2020

Later Wednesday, Omar tried to walk back the (beating voters) flogging tweet, agreeing with a poster who said she didn't actually mean it.

#12  You can't just translate and appropriate westernisms and use them as Dhikr;

Dhikr Dhikr Mohammed Jihad!

(I blame my inner 12-year old. Deacon would understand)

#10  Yes, Lex... sort of.

I'm sure that wasn't what Moses had in mind ☺, because he used the word meaning 'terrible and fearful', but yes. The phrase is basically used like the modern 'Awesome !' or 'Wow !'

#9  ^ Thanks, Dron. So it sounds like a Muslim equivalent of how we today use the biblical term, "awesome" as in Deuteronomy 10:17:

For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God...

#8  Bullshit.

Subhanallah actually means praise. Nobody says 'good god' in arabic or urdu. You can't just translate and appropriate westernisms and use them as Dhikr; it would be a sin and blasphemy.

'Subhaanallah' is one of the tasbeeh-e-Dhikr, phrases and exhortations used to invoke Allah, in everyday chatter. It means something like 'God is beyond good !' People say it when they hear good news, or when praising a dish or a painting or song, or a woman - anything beautiful.

#6  Aren't her 15 minutes about up? No? Might have to wait until November.

#5  Can we just declare her a traitor and have her shot now please?

#4  And those who accuse chaste women, and produce not four witnesses

Any problem producing 4 witnesses?

#3  "Let he who is without sin throw the first stone."

Um, OK, How about the second stone?

#2  The stones are still waiting, patiently.

#1  This woman needs to be dumped or removed from office for ethic violations and possible crimes in 2020. Unfortunately, flogging is not an option in this country.
