America has the most ammo in the global food fight
2020-03-26
[MSN] Countries are starting to hoard food, threatening global trade.

Kazakhstan, one of the world’s biggest shippers of wheat flour, banned exports of that product along with others, including carrots, sugar and potatoes. Serbia has stopped the flow of its sunflower oil and other goods. Russia is leaving the door open to shipment bans and said it’s assessing the situation weekly.

Is this the start of a wave of food nationalism that will further disrupt supply chains and trade flows?

#2  Foodstuffs are a prime tradeable good. Many have a shelf life and become trash if not consumed in a timely fashion. The fact is you don't need a globaloney framework to trade them. Commerce has been its own framework for most of human existence.
