Iran Coronavirus Updates: 27,017 Confirmed Cases, 2,077 Deaths, 9,625 Recovered
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] As of Wednesday, the death toll from the novel coronavirus outbreak, officially known as COVID-19, in Iran has risen to 2,077 with 27,017 confirmed cases and 9,625 recovered.
i.e., according to my admittedly shaky math, of those confirmed, a 7 to 8 percent death rate.
Iran’s Health Ministry Spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour said on Wednesday that 2,206 new cases have tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of infections in Iran to 27,017
27,017 divided by 47,500,000 works out to a pretty small .06% infection rate.
To date, more than 47.5 million people have been screened for COVID-19 and the National Mobilization Plan to combat coronavirus is run in the country and is considered as a successful pattern for other countries.
Some 9,625 patients, infected by the novel coronavirus, have so far recovered and discharged from hospitals, he added.
35 percent recovery rate, plus seven percent death rate, leaves a 58 percent limbo rate, neither recovered nor dead.
It is a matter of regret to say that COVID-19 global pandemic has so far taken the lives of 2,077 people in Iran, with 143 deaths reported in the past 24 hours, he said.
Eight percent of the confirmed infections have been in the past 24 hours? (2077÷27017=0.07687) That means the epidemic's been going for twelve days? Twelve and a half? Don't time fly!
According to a report by the Iranian Health Ministry on Tuesday, capital Tehran reported the highest number of infections as compared with other provinces in the country.

To date, more than 47.5 million people have been screened for COVID-19 and the National Mobilization Plan to combat coronavirus is run in the country and is considered as a successful pattern for other countries.

#3  So based on outcomes, there's about an 18% mortality rate.
