| [Rudaw] America’s handover of al-Qaim military base to the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) is "the first step of a US troop withdrawal from Iraq," an Iraqi military official told Rudaw on Thursday. Maj. Gen. Tahsin Khafaji, front man for Iraq’s Joint Operation Command, said Thursday that US forces have now officially handed over command of al-Qaim military base on the Iraq-Syria border.
