Ancient human settlement was obliterated by a COMET that exploded in Earth's atmosphere and sent fragments of molten glass 'hot enough to melt cars' flying to the ground 12,800 years ago

#10  if you want a bible narrative that 'fits' this comet event, I would suggest the Sodom and Gomorrah story

#8  ^ Tell it to Erich Von Daniken, Dale.

Lal Gauri, K., Sinai, J. J., & Bandyopadhyay, J. K. (1995). Geologic weathering and its implications on the age of the Sphinx. Geoarchaeology, 10(2), 119-133.

The Great Sphinx of Giza is considered by Egyptologists to have been excavated by the Pharaoh Kephren nearly 4500 years ago. Schoch and West (1991) have suggested that the Sphinx is much older, based primarily upon the rounded profile of the strata of the Sphinx thorax and the deep channels present in the walls surrounding the Sphinx ditch. These features, according to them, are due to “precipitation‐induced weathering” formed when the Sahara still experienced a humid climate at least 7000 years ago. In this article we show how weathering in an arid environment can produce the rounded profile given the gradual change in lithology of the alternating hard and soft limestone strata. We show further that the channels are actually the pre‐Pliocene karst features formed by underground water and exposed due to the excavation of the Sphinx ditch. We propose therefore that, for now, the Sphinx may still be regarded as of pharaonic origin. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

#6  ^Great Sphinx of Giza is commonly believed to have been designed, sculpted, and constructed by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom during the reign of the pharaoh Khafre (c. 2558–2532 BC).[5]

That's 8000 years later.

#5  G, yes the Sphinx. Water erosion on its side proved that one.

We just watched Joe Rogan Experience #725 - Graham Hancock & Randall Carlson explaining this exact same thing. It's long but fascinating explanation. The thickness of carbon bio ashe layers in North America is hard to get your mind around. Then came the massive floods from the glaciers melting to our north.

#2  Statues in Egypt have extreme heat exposure and damage about this time in history.
