[Guns America] To anyone who thought that Joe Biden might take a moderate stance on gun control if elected president, think again: the former VP vowed at a campaign stop in Dallas this week to put Robert "Beto" O’Rourke in charge of his gun control agenda.The former Congressman from Texas ran on one of the most extreme anti-gun platforms during his short time as a Democratic presidential candidate, endorsing plans to confiscate "assault rifles" and enforce a nationwide gun registry, among many other proposals.
Biden told O’Rourke he’d be placed in charge of the administration’s gun control agenda during an event at which O’Rourke endorsed Biden for president.
"I want to make something clear: I’m going to guarantee you this is not the last you’re seeing of this guy," Biden said to a crowd in Dallas. "You’re going to take care of the gun problem with me. You’re going to be the one who leads this effort. I’m counting on you. We need you badly, the state needs you, the country needs you, you’re the best."
