on Thursday evening, the provincial governor’s front man Zabihullah Amani said.

He added that the clash happened in Korak Arabiya village on the outskirts of Sar-e-Pul city when a group of Taliban fighters attacked a security outpost.

The clash, which continued for two hours, left 10 security force members maimed, Amani said.

He added that nine Taliban fighters were killed and 13 others were maimed.

Amani said that a Taliban weapons cache was destroyed in an Arclight airstrike

which was carried out during the clash.

The Taliban has not commented on the reported attack.

An Arclight airstrike killed five gunnies of the Taliban group in northern Sar-e Pul province of Afghanistan, the military officials said Friday.

The officials further added that the security forces conducted the airstrike in the restive Sayad district of Sar-e Pul province.

"An airstrike in Sayad district killed five Taliban fighters and destroyed a small Taliban weapons cache," the officials said.
