| #1 Speculation: I wonder if some of the older patients were exposed to a pathogen somewhat similar to COVID-19 a couple of decades ago. Some of the severe health complications could then be the result of an allergic overreaction of the immune system triggered by partial immunity acquired decades ago. This would be an explanation for COVID-19 apparently not causing any serious health issues in the 0-9 y/o age group. |
