Bloomberg's ‘mercenaries': Billionaire Dem funding network of climate lawyers inside state AG offices
2020-02-19
[FoxNews] A program funded by 2020 presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg is paying the salaries of lawyers who are farmed out to liberal state attorney general offices to pursue climate-based litigation -- a compact critics say amounts to Bloomberg buying state law enforcement employees to advance his preferred political agenda.

The arrangement, which currently pays the salaries of Special Assistant Attorneys General (SAAGs) in 10 Democratic AG offices, is drawing new scrutiny now that Bloomberg is running for president. The New York University School of Law's State Energy & Environmental Impact Center, which was started in 2017 with $5.6 million from Bloomberg's nonprofit, hires mid-career lawyers as "research fellows" before providing them to state AGs where they assist in pursuing "progressive" policy goals through the courts.

#10  Yup - shows you where my mind's really at...

I was just gonna trash Mass. AG Maura Healy, who believes part of her job is 'protecting the environment', even as the purview for that appears to be the Mass. Department for Environmental Protection.

The part that got my post in the hole was a reference to Ms. Healy's, um, preferred gender association. She's also a spiteful witch and an awfully poor sport. One of my clients was refereeing a charity basketball game with Healy as one of the players. He ejected her from the game about ten minutes in after two quick technical fouls (she was yelling at him for a foul committed on her teammate and not her.

#6  * DAs and AGs both. Democratically elected.

#5  Fat Bob: we vote for DAs. Bloomberg is undermining this democratic process.
Direct your uninformed snark elsewhere

#4  Except most state AG are directly elected. May sail in CA and similar already friendly venues, but other states may see a turn over they become too public about their business.
