Mike Bloomberg: Those Uneducated Midwest Rubes Are Just Too Stupid for Trans Bathrooms
2020-02-09
[PJ] Back in 2016, former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg made elitist and demeaning comments about Midwestern rubes who are too uneducated to support transgender bathroom access. The remarks, which resurfaced on Friday, illustrate the patronizing attitude many pro-transgender activists have toward those who dare to disagree with the view that gender identity overrides biological sex. Ironically, transgender activists were triggered by how the former mayor insulted the Midwesterners who disagree with them.

Speaking to an audience at Oxford University and addressing the Brexit vote, Bloomberg said, "We, the intelligentsia, the people who could make it into this room, we believe a lot of things in terms of equality and protecting individual rights that make no sense to the vast bulk of people."

"They are not opposed to you having some rights, but there's a fundamental disconnect between us believing the rights of the individual come first and the general belief around the world, I think it's fair to say, that the rights of society comes first," Bloomberg continued.

#15  When he doesn't succeed in buying the nomination, Bloomie will sue on the grounds that he outbid everybody else fair and square.

#14  Let Bloomberg throw his money down the drain. I don't sense people are too thrilled in the Midwest with Bloomberg either. Same in the South. Fact is, I'm not sure where he is liked. He is the ultimate control freak who is trying to impose personal preferences (some might say perversions) on everyone else. He really thinks he knows what's best for everyone. He's quite a bit like George Soros in that way.

Lex, that's the one thing we'll never run short of.

#10  Note the tortured syntax, bad grammar, and sheer smirking mendacity of this kloodgy Bloomie-ism:

They are not opposed to you having some rights, but there's a fundamental disconnect between us believing the rights of the individual come first and the general belief around the world, I think it's fair to say, that the rights of society comes first,

"Us"? What do you mean, us, Kemo Sabe? Your Oxford audience most likely included many BDS berserkers who'd like to single out Jewish people for punishment and take way their right to exist.

Also, note the hypocrisy of the preening gun-grabber and 2A violator pretending to take the side of the individual vs what he calls, in his inept way, the "rights of society."

Where did he come up with that straw man, anyway? Oh, wait: that's exactly his own bizarre rationale for shredding the Bill of Rights.

More absurdity combined with gross incompetence, dressed up in pompous virtue-signaling: looks like we have another Shithead for the Shitshow.

#4  Brexit vote was the peoples vote. Bloombergs and the elitist greatest fear. He is the American remain-er.

#3  Maybe Mike should listen to his alma mater's Head of Psychiatry, Dr. McHugh, who has railed against "iatrogenic" (patient-caused) syndromes and other psychiatry profession hoaxes for over 40 years

#2  the rights of the individual come first

As long as an individual is NOT a teenage girl opposed to having a bearded freak in her restroom.

#1  Leave it to people like Mike to turn individuality into a bad thing.
