| Pakistan temporarily closed Torkham border |

| [KhaamaPress] Pakistan closed the Torkham border on Wednesday morning, an official said. Attaullah Khogyani, a provincial spokesperson for the eastern Nangarhar province confirmed the border closure by the Pakistan army. Earlier in the day, Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Aisha Farooqui said the border gates had been closed for security reasons after two mortar shells fell near the crossing overnight. The border remained closed for 10 hours before the Pakistan border police reopened it Torkham is an important border for Afghanistan business transits that come through Karachi port. |
