Rep. Pete Olson endorses Pierce Bush for soon-to-be-vacant Congressional seat in Fort Bend County
2020-01-22
[KHOU] Pierce Bush is facing more than a dozen other Republicans in the upcoming primary for Congressional District 22, but he's hoping Monday's endorsement will give him an edge.

It came from retiring Rep. Pete Olson.

Olson says he's backing Bush because he thinks he can win.

Pierce Bush is the grandson of President George H.W. Bush and the nephew of President George W. Bush. And while he only just recently moved into the district he’s hoping to represent, he says he’s no stranger here.

"This is a community I know well," Bush said. "I've had the honor of serving the entire district, not just a portion, and it’s a district that represents what’s best about this entire country."

Bush hopes to serve a huge district that stretches from Fort Bend County to southeast Harris County. It was once considered Republican territory, but now many say it’s up for grabs. Perhaps, going from red to blue.

"I would say that Fort Bend, if not already blue, is clearly more competitive than it’s ever been," KHOU political analyst Bob Stein said.

#7  Could George P change his surname at least? Maybe call himself "George Prescott"?

#6  This Bush seems like a carpetbagger, but third-generation George P the Texas Land Commissioner, has done a credible job overseeing Alamo project and overhauling Veterans Land Board, plus he endorsed Trump in break with family, and Trump returned the favor.
