#2  Primary is Pakistan, Procopius2k, yes, but there is also a long-standing association with Iran — that’s where their dear Al Qaeda friend Osama bin Laden sent one of his wives, along with children and staff, to shelter from the American counter attack while he and the rest fled to Pakistan’s welcoming arms. So no reason they wouldn’t accept Iranian support and training in exchange for some little efforts that did not conflict with the primary allegiance and assignments.
