| [MAIL] The US reportedly relied on Israeli intelligence in the assassination of top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani. Soleimani, the head of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, was killed in a US airstrike as he left Baghdad International Airport after flying in from Damascus on January 3rd. Informants in Damascus tipped the CIA off about which flight Soleimani would be on and Israeli intelligence verified and confirmed that information, NBC News and Reuters reported Sunday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is said to be the only foreign leader who knew of the planned assassination, having spoken to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo beforehand, according to the New York Times. |

| #8 Following the attack on the USEMBASSY in the Iraqi Green Zone, It is likely all of the intelligence trees were shaken quite vigorously. One of the first 'go to' people I would seek info from would by our Israeli Mossad liaison contacts, next the British, then the French. Possibly also of interest as mentioned yesterday, there does not appear to be any Iranian government officials, military or otherwise aboard that Ukrainian flight that was shot down. It would be rather naive to assume the Iranians were unaware of that flight, it's destination, or flight manifest. Just saying. |
