#11  *sheesh... his cut needs to be $3m at least.
* the WaPo suit is asking $250m

#10  Lin Wood the lawyer will prob'y not settle for less than $10 million... his cut is likely one-third, and he probably expected to take at least $10m given all the time invested / opportunity cost.

Also, several more suits are in play incl $25 vs WaPo, so Lin Wood will prob'y want to make sure the first settlement is a very high one.

I'd guess more like $25-40m.

#9  From Instapundit:

"'We just want this to go away so we can get back to mourning the death of Qassem Soleimani,’ one senior CNN executive was heard to say."

#8  Shoulda explained something else - not knowing the specific settlement details, the general reason Nick's settlement isn't taxable is this defamation settlement is / should be considered 'damages to personal reputation'. If someone sues for harm caused to one's career / livelihood, that's considered 'damage to professional reputation' and thus taxable, the concept being the award in this situation is considered in lieu of lost income because of said defamation.

#7  Saw THIS on Fox 19 website in Cincinnati. Though WKRP was entertaining back in the day. Heh.

Lin Wood has WaPO, NBC Universal, Gannet, and Phillips in his targeting folder.

#6  CNN confirms the settlement of the lawsuit:
A CNN spokesperson confirmed Tuesday with The Enquirer that a settlement was reached.
The network would not comment on the details of the settlement. Nick's lawyers did not respond to phone calls or emails at the time of this report.

#5  #3 I want to see the terms and the $ amount; I hope it's at least $10 million, untaxed to Nick in this case.

This. There must be pain. That's all the flatworms of the left understand.

#2  Sandman has more money and is wiser than CNN; if you do not know exactly what is going on you should keep your mouth shut. Good for this young man.

#1  CNN is cutting staff and downsizing ops. Get the financial resources now to go after NBC et al, the bigger money.
