Unknown Armed Men Open Fire at Health Center in Kabul
2019-12-25
[ToloNews] The men are believed to work for Commander Wase, and residents say such threatening behavior is not new.

Unknown gunnies on Monday night shot up a health center in PD5 in Kabul, a number of eyewitnesses said on Tuesday.

The gunnies, who apparently belong to Commander Wase, a local strongman, have also warned that the residents should evacuate their homes, the residents claimed.

"Wase is not letting us live in peace. This is not the first time--he has threatened us with death several times," said Raz Mohammad, a resident in PD5 of Kabul.

"Over the past 20 years, six to seven hundred acres of land have been grabbed and were sold," said Ajab Gul, a resident in Kabul.

"The government never took action against the illegal gangs and instead supported them and, in some cases, created them," said Abdul Mohammad, the owner of the health center.

But Wase has rejected the allegations, saying the land where the health center was been built was his personal property and it has been grabbed by a man named Jannat Gul.

"Why should someone build a health center on my land? I asked the bullying man over the past seventeen years to come and give me my money or divide the land," said Wase in a telephone interview with TOLOnews.

Some residents said that the Kabul police failed to provide security to the public.
