Former FBI attorney Lisa Page sues DOJ for releasing her texts with Peter Strzok |
2019-12-11 |
[Washington Examiner] Former FBI attorney Lisa Page is suing the Department of Justice and the FBI for violating her privacy by releasing her personal information to the public. Page, 39, announced her lawsuit over Twitter on Tuesday. The attorney alleges that the DOJ and the FBI’s release of text messages between her and then-FBI agent Peter Strzok violated Privacy Act provisions regulating the release of private information to the media. "I sued the Department of Justice and FBI today," Page said. "I take little joy in having done so. But what they did in leaking my messages to the press was not only wrong, it was illegal." |

#15 I used my personal cell as both personal/business cell because I didn't want to carry two (and most of my contacts knew not to abuse it). The rules allowed reimbursement but also required my acceptance of their ability to DL and review my files. As most who know me know....that could be PC problematic. I never took the stipend ;-) |

#14 If the text were on a government phone they are fair game. |

#13 Wonder who is paying her upcoming legal bills, can't be on contingency. Maybe George is. |

#11 When I use company equipment, nothing is considered 'private' or "mine". If she was using any sort of official issued phone for this or computer, there IS no right to privacy. |

#9 Or, a clever method of invoking full discovery on the redacted and missing texts. |

#8 Of course she knows. This is yet another ridiculous redirect. The Redirect is a key prop in The Shitshow. |

#7 I presume her employment contract included a release of privacy on said time, accounts, or equipment. So she knows she's got nothing. |

#6 Good point Glen. She's got nothing. |

#5 We’re the texts & e-mails done on company (government) equipment, accounts or time? |

#4 Gives new meaning to the term 'chutzpah.' Recalls the joke about the defendant who, having murdered his parents, asks the Judge to take mercy on a poor orphan. |

#3 I'm sure an unemployable cop will enjoy the six figure legal bills. You go, girl! |

#1 Call it self preservation or suvival. She was a contractor, she knows full well she won't be 'driving' the bus. |
