WSJ: Trump 'Quietly' Met With Gov. Kemp About Senate Appointment
2019-11-30
[Red State] According to the Wall Street Journal, President Trump and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp quietly met last Sunday in the White House. Kemp brought along Kelly Loeffler, an Atlanta businesswoman who is under consideration as an appointee to fill the Senate seat of Senator Johnny Isakson. Isakson announced his retirement last August, after a forty-year career in politics. He cited health concerns.

The trip was unannounced to the press and Kemp kept the information about the trip from his top aides. President Trump didn’t tell senior aides at the White House about the meeting, either, not even the ones who have been involved in the process. It is reported that the meeting didn’t go particularly well. The two men have been discussing the choice Kemp has to make for several months. The problem is that Trump is encouraging Kemp to appoint Rep. Doug Collins, a loyal Trump supporter who has risen in national recognition since his involvement in the House Intelligence Committee’s impeachment hearings. Collins is the ranking member on the committee. Kemp is leaning toward appointing Ms. Loeffler. Loeffler would be a status quo kind of appointment ‐ a wealthy, moderate Republican woman who pro-life organizations are coming out against.

#6  Georgia has its own swamp:
Brian Porter Kemp (born November 2, 1963) is an American businessman and politician serving as the 83rd Governor of Georgia since 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he previously was the 27th Secretary of State of Georgia from 2010 to 2018 and a member of the Georgia State Senate from 2003 until 2007.

#3  Good lord. An ex-basketball player who heads up her husband's bitcoin scam (I know; that's redundant) operation. The solution-in-search-of-a-problem-- except for international crime syndicates, terrorists and NKor, for whom it's another way to launder and move funds-- that's already bulked god knows how many thousands of gullible speculators and will dwindle thousands more before it collapses of its own pointlessness.

Hard to find a better symbol of our elites' corruption and stupidity than Kemp et al's embrace of this scam.

#1  Ms. Loeffler and husband are Illinois and Wisconsin migrants respectively. They gathered up their money and 'got to Georgia as fast as they could' to join the Buckhead, moneyed elite. Used to be a term for that, something to do with floor coverings and luggage.

Rep. Collins is USN Vet, Baptist preacher, pro-life, strong MAGA man and native of Gainsville, GA.

Another Mitt Romney in the Senate is not needed. Lets hope Gov. Kemp comes to his senses.
