King Co. Executive defends Sanctuary Policies while kids are killed.
2019-11-18
In which King County Executive Dow Constantine, tells everyone that the feelings of illegal aliens are far, far, more important then the lives of their kids.
[KOMONews] SEATTLE - Blowback is mounting over three separate murders that might have been prevented, but immigration officials say sanctuary policies got in the way.

The cases involve killings in South Park, Auburn, and Bellevue. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said the people who have been arrested are in the country illegally. ICE officials add that in the past they tried to take them into custody but local officials refused to help.

A man whose son was murdered said his boy might still be alive if King County officials had notified ICE when they had the chance.

Now, the ashes of Juan Carlos Con Guzman are the first thing his father sees when he walks through the front door.

"They take all my love. They broke my heart. Broke everything," said Juan Carlos Con Chiquin.

Before being arrested for murder, immigration officials said one of the men suspected in Guzman's death was in custody for auto theft. ICE asked the King County Jail to let them know when he'd be released. That notification never came and now Guzman is dead.

"They need to change a little bit," Chiquin said.

Because of his son, Chiquin believes local officials need to rethink sanctuary policies when it involves people who commit serious crimes.

There are two other homicide cases involving undocumented immigrants. One is charged with shooting into a home in South Park and killing a father as he sat on his couch. The third case led to a teenager being killed in a Bellevue park.

Bryan Wilcox, a deputy field officer director for ICE, said his agency sought detainers to hold the people involved before these crimes were committed but were ignored.

"In these circumstances, they (need to) work more hard and together," Chiquin said.

While these examples are tragic, sanctuary policies have also helped many immigrants illegal aliens feel more comfortable reaching out to police about threats in the community. reaching out and killing kids and others in the community. (FIFY) However, there is a feeling that some sort of balance needs to be struck. Ultimately, any change in King County would have to come from the county council.

King County Executive Dow Constantine released a statement:

"ICE is now on a public relations offensive against jurisdictions that follow the rule of law, alerting the media to instances when agents send civil Immigration Detainers that are prohibited by county policy.
A lie - ICE isn't asking for detention - but to be notified when they criminal is released. Never mind that federal law Trumps county policy.
ICE is fully aware that if they present a valid criminal warrant issued by a U.S. District Court Judge or Magistrate, the county would comply. To be clear, we do not hold people against their will in our detention facilities unless ordered to do so by a judge.
I'm sure all the criminals who you arrest, without a judges explicit orders, appreciate that. Why do you have that jail again?
We will continue to honor the Constitution, rather than the extrajudicial orders of any person, including the President."
Lets not mention that ICE isn't asking you to detain anyone - just let them know when they are being released. He knows this. King County Executive Dow Constantine is Lying - but then he's a Democrat.

#12  In this day and age, that database should be automated and ICE agents should get push notifications on their work cellphones that someone on the list is about to be sprung.

Maybe time to Freedom Of Information Act their sorry asses. It is a matter of community interest after all. Wankers would probably put up a web page rather than giving us a nice REST interface, but hey, it ain't the first screen we've scraped.

#11  Time to declare these counties in sedition and send in the US Marshals to arrest the politicians and police that refuse to uphold the law.

#10  U.S. Code Title 18 § 2384. Seditious conspiracy

If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

#9  How about if conservatives funded a community administrated app to check this, tied up with ICE. The jails cannot deny any information requested by civs can they ? Besides, they wouldn't have to check with the prisons, just the county judges ordering the releases and update the db.

I may be ill informed about the specifics of how it works there, but the wily liberals would find a way for such a minor hassle. I think we can too ?

#7  Prosecute them. They really do bear responsibility for murder.

#6  What is it the gun grabbers like to say? NRA members "have blood on their hands?" Well, all you Dow Constantine voters, you have blood on your hands. Like it?

#5  Isn't there some kind of database that's updated automatically when a release is ordered ? Something an ICE sub-dept, or contracted agency can keep checking with periodically.

#3  These "sanctuary"-supporting bastards are guilty of aiding and abetting murder. When will they face justice?
