'Disgusting': CNN employees 'in shock' WarnerMedia hired Morgan Freeman after sexual harassment allegations
2019-10-31
[Washington Examiner] WarnerMedia executives caused some consternation among CNN employees with the decision to hire actor Morgan Freeman to narrate a presentation to investors.

WarnerMedia is CNN’s parent company, and employees from both organizations attended a presentation to WarnerMedia investors on Tuesday, according to Variety. The presentation opened with a video narrated by the famous actor.

The company's decision to hire Freeman for the gig comes after several CNN reporters wrote a 2018 article about eight women who alleged the 82-year-old actor harassed them or engaged in inappropriate conduct.

"It's disgusting," one CNN employee told Variety. "So many of us were scratching our heads in shock, wondering how something like this could even happen."

"Of all the millions of people they could have hired, why him?" another asked.

No CNN employees agreed to speak on the record out of fear of their employer punishing them.

"I did not create unsafe work environments. I did not assault women. I did not offer employment or advancement in exchange for sex. Any suggestion that I did so is completely false," Freeman said in a statement amid backlash from the allegations last year.

#11  Remember the Project Veritas undercover videos? They know, they are just constrained by the desire to remain employed to project certain attitudes.

#8  Employees of CNN appear to be the model of 'useful idiots'. Can't figure out its all been fiction created to garner power. They actually believe the crap.

#5  Just a point, It seems that no matter what the issue - even the health of puppies - the normal attitude of a CNN person is "SHOCK". They must have huge cardiovascular health issues with CNN employees.

#4  Whilst I am pretty sure the allegations are not false, they are still just allegations.

#3  Morgan Freeman is one of CNN's tribe. Thus the rules don't apply to him. If an outsider was accused, he would naturally be guilty without trial. But not One Of Us.

It makes sense when you know what's going on.
