- Some of the videos depicted the grisly beheadings and murder of captives
- The clips featured TikTok filters and lighthearted heart and peace sign stickers
- The videos were reported this week and have since been removed by TikTok
- Officials say the videos started to emerge as late as three weeks ago
- Using TikTok was likely a strategic choice by ISIS militants as it's the third most installed app in the world
- About 30 percent of the users are under the age of 18 and it is predominantly used to share dance and music videos
