Britain, European Union reach new Brexit deal
2019-10-17
[NY Post] European Union and British negotiators have agreed on an outline Brexit deal which still needs to be backed by EU member states and by the respective parliaments.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker tweeted "We have one! It's a fair and balanced agreement for the EU and the UK and it is testament to our commitment to find solutions."
*Hic!*
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted that the two sides had struck a "great new deal" and urged U.K. lawmakers to ratify it in a special session on Saturday.

Juncker said he would recommend the 27 EU nations to endorse the deal during their summit later Thursday

#11  They didn't ratify the May deal, and the Boris deal is no better.

#10  Parliament will not ratify this.

Sure they will - vox populi, vox dei.

#9  Parliament will not ratify this. The May deal, only worse.
Boris will need to ask for an extension (and check out ditches).
Extension will be granted (what Junker says is irrelevant)
Then the UK will have elections, probably another hung Parliament and a second referendum. This referendum may go either way, but probably be very close.

End result: Groundhog Day
I got you babe... dadada

#7  If they don't ratify they own all the problems that might pop up during/after Brexit. If they ratify they toss that hot potato at Boris.

#6  Now the UK lawmakers will not ratify it. I've seen this show.

#5  How can it be a good deal if Juncker likes it?

#2  On the other hand (from Skid's link) - Jo Swinson, the leader of the Liberal Democrats, responded to the news of the agreement being in place by insisting that it must be put to a referendum.

She said: 'The fight to stop Brexit is far from over.
