#4 Remember that time that Lebron James called President Trump a bum, and the government shut down the NBA until James apologized? And then when James finally did apologize, no small thing there, the government kept the NBA shut down for another two weeks to show who is the boss? ***break*** OK, so NBA is big in China they say. How does the government square this circle, with the season getting started and the owner of the Houston Rockets, home team of Yao Ming no small name there, makes an obvious social credit crime: How does the ministry of truth explain away two weeks of no round-ball after obvious thought crime? ***break*** Looks like the NBAs public relations defense has a chink in its armor. |

#3 The NBA kowtowing before the chicoms is far less irrational than the formerly free world kowtowing before Islam in general and hostile and evil Afghanistan in particular. At least there's some money to be made in the short term for the NBA while Afghanistan is a money sink. Finlandization is the foundation of Western political consensus. Why fault the NBA for following consensus? |

#2 Abu - technically there are no shareholders per se, just the ownership of the individual NBA teams. Did I say 'ownership'? This absolute twit of an NBA commissioner, Adam Silver, banned that word from being used to describe this 'structure'. Might explain the guy's totalitarian impulses, actually. |
