Police release man who brought a knife into a Berlin synagogue | ||

[Jpost] Police have released a knife-wielding Syrian refugee who had to be subdued by pepper spray by security guards outside a Berlin synagogue after he crossed its security barrier. Investigators said they had to release the man, a 23-year-old from Damascus, because they did not have enough evidence to charge him with a crime at this point. The investigation is ongoing, according to the state Prosecutor’s Office. The response was woefully inadequate and even dangerous, Josef Schuster, head of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, said in a statement Monday. He said the violent nature of Friday’s incident prior to Shabbat services at the historic Neue Synagogue should have merited a tougher response. A "dangerous man" is now on the lam, he said. According to a statement from the Prosecutor’s Office, two security guards drew guns on the man, identified by police as Murad M., after he crossed the security barrier, but he did not respond to their order to drop his knife and continued mumbling in Arabic. Local media reported that he said "God is great" in Arabic, a phrase often used by Arab terrorists.
The man has a residency permit ending in December 2020 and did not have a prior police record.

#8 Next thing you know, you have your own Trump/Orban/BoJo. According to Sarah Hoyt Even in Europe I suspect when this bursts — and there it will burst. The elites flaying and screaming is only making it worse — you’re going to see things that will make you wonder why on Earth good American boys died in WWII. Because we’re about to get National Socialism, the sequel. National because they’re getting tired of the international elites (and who isn’t) and socialism because the poor bastards have not experienced anything else their entire adult lives. |

#7 Rules in Germany for pretrial custody are quite strict, but in this case a seriously wrong judgment was made. Too much of that and people start thinking the game is rigged. Next thing you know, you have your own Trump/Orban/BoJo. |

#5 ....'affirmatively' privileged diversity, and disconnected leaders with no accountability. Apologies....I just wanted to see it in larger print and bolded. |

#4 So is it in France, EC. Didn't save the police. Isn't enough for the media to write and speak against the bureaucratic largesse to muslims. It is the people themselves who need to protect their country. Weapons and laws are not enough to protect people. What it requires most is public intent. I've seen third world villagers mob an armed posse of sasquatches and beat them to death with sticks and shovels. When the police came to 'rescue them', they were beaten too ! I think Austrians are faring better in that regard. The populations of the west have become easy targets because of lax immigration control, zero protection of the citizen against the 'affirmatively' privileged diversity, and disconnected leaders with no accountability. |

#3 Berlin press is NOT amused. Btw it is illegal to carry a knife of reported length in public, let alone threaten police with it. |

#2 India too has severe gun laws like EU countries but we allowed a 'community watch' type militia in Himachal Pradesh to arm themselves against antisemitic attack. The Home Ministry even gave them some Tavor rifles, since the IWI had made them for us. |
