Polls show support growing in #US for #Trump’s removal from office

#9  This is a not uncommon syndrome in US politics: educated people say one thing publicly regarding their intentions and then behave an entirely different way in the privacy of the voting booth.

The degree of disconnect between surface and reality is directly proportional to the degree and severity of retaliation, denunciation, or persecution expected.

Today that fear is off the charts high. I've never seen anything like it in this country.

Maybe it was experienced by some lefties in Hollywood in the McCarthy era, but never have we seen such a generalized state of fear experienced by tens of millions of people across the entire country. This is new.

Because it's so new, our polling methods are completely inadequate to understand and capture it.

The polls are useless. Trump's support is far deeper and more solid than our media screamers and polling "experts" pretend.

#8  It is impossible for anyone in the corporate world or state/federal bureaucracies to voice an opinion that is even remotely positive about anything Trump has done without risking career-ending retaliation.

Yes. In the music world as well, which is where I find myself in a small way now that Mr. Wife has gotten involved in the Blues and Folk worlds. There are many times I am careful about what I say, or say nothing at all. But I’ve been finding it fascinating how often someone will quietly say something pro-Trump or anti-liberal to me, completely unsolicited, which has led to some fascinating conversations on the sidelines.

#7  The network news reporting on the Ukraine deal has been very dishonest. This doesn't surprise me, but it's unreal. As more people hear the real trasncripts they'll know it's nothing against Trump and possibly very damaging to Biden and Hillary.

#6  #4 Polls, huh? They never asked my opinion, not that I'd give it to them. But that's kinda my point.

Exactly. The polls underestimate Trump's true support by at least 6-7 points. That corresponds to those supporters of his who are surrounded by deep-blue left-lib Kool-Aid drinkers, who now infest the corporate world and the federal bureaucracy in addition to their usual haunts.

It is impossible for anyone in the corporate world or state/federal bureaucracies to voice an opinion that is even remotely positive about anything Trump has done without risking career-ending retaliation.

We are living in a Soviet-lite system. No gujags, but the threat of social erasure and career extinction.

Given this climate of fear, why would anyone reveal - even to a pollster's call center dialers - his true political opinions? Data leaks are everywhere. Why risk having one's name entered into a database along with the label, "Supports Trump"?

Clearly there are at least 5-7 million such people in this country who will never take such a risk. But who will vote against the anti-Trump insanity come next November.

#5  There's only one poll that matters and that'll be taken in November of next year. Do you feel lucky, punk?

#3  Complete BS.
This is a fake scandal following on the collapse of two hoaxes, Russiagate and Lucy Ramirez's non-accusation of Kavanaugh.
Dems have cried wolf too many times for anyone but their lunatic Trump-hating core to listen any more.

The general sense in the country is that people want to vote and bring this national pissfest to a conclusion. Impeachment prolongs the pissfest and does an end-run around the electoral process.

No way that any more than 50% of the public will support it.

#2  No. Fake news. Not what I'm hearing. Washington post rag is running this to death and papers are not selling. Same with AP who emails stories to be printed in main papers. Total disconnect with America.
