Mark Sanford announces GOP presidential bid: ‘We have lost our way’

 for the Republican Party’s 2020 presidential nomination becoming the third member of his party to do so.

Sanford told "Fox News Sunday" he believes the GOP needs to have a conversation about what it means to be a Republican, adding, "We have lost our way."

The former governor, who was also a congressman from 1995 to 2001 and 2013 to 2019, highlighted a need to discuss the country’s ballooning debt and deficits, as well as Trump’s turn toward trade protectionism.

"One of the hallmarks of the Republican Party and the conservative movement has always been: How much do we spend?" Sanford said, offering a nod to the famed University of reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown

#15  ...I'd say the voters returning a Congress so oriented since they are the 'purse' of the republic. However, since the GOPe controlled both the house and executive for many years, I didn't see any real attempt to solve the deficit issue. Won't be solved till it implodes and the people reject indentured servitude for the generosity of the ruling class.

which would help prevent rewarding people who hate America by giving them US citizenship

Promotion of the emigration of people into the United States of people who I consider to be anti-American
was a favorite program of Obama because Obama hates Christians just like he hates the state of Israel.
That is why Obama did what he did.
What is Sanford's motivation for challenging Trump?
