[DAWN] British MPs inflicted a fresh defeat on Prime Minister Boris Johnson

an Union without a deal next month.

In a second parliamentary revolt in as many days, the House of Commons voted 327 to 299 in favour of a bill that could delay Brexit for three months.

It will now be scrutinised by the House of Lords, but peers have only a few days to pass the bill before Johnson suspends parliament next week.

The prime minister called for parliament to vote in favour of holding an early election on October 15, insisting Britannia must leave the EU as planned on October 31, with or without a deal with Brussels.

He vowed he would "never allow" the delay, insisting the draft law would "surrender" control over Brexit negotiations to Brussels.

The government has already introduced a motion for a vote later on Wednesday calling for a snap election to take place before an EU summit on October 17.

In yet another twist in the tortuous Brexit process, however, the opposition Labour party is expected to withhold its support for an election, which requires the backing of two-thirds of MPs, until the law receives final approval.

#5  Ref #2: The vested interests within Britain will simply not let go of their gravy train. What is surprising is how Johnson could not have seen all this coming. My theory sounds farfetched ? Call me crazy, but you'll be surprised is that there is only one party in the UK. The labels are for people, to keep the facade of democracy alive.

Nearly so here in the States as well. Left unchecked, it will become a reality.

#4  Dron,
You are entirely correct.

The people who choose who can be MPs are the uniparty.

#3  "hardline"
or what the referendum voters voted for...

Treasonous MP's know that the WTO deal is the best deal so far offered that follows the referendum instruction to parliament.

This is how they try and prevent leaving by tagging leaving to a deal they know the EUSSR will offer that is unacceptable.

#2  The fact that the Eww is a construct of oligarchs and by now a deeply invested, corrupt bureaucracy. The vested interests within Britain will simply not let go of their gravy train. What is surprising is how Johnson could not have seen all this coming. My theory sounds farfetched ? Call me crazy, but you'll be surprised is that there is only one party in the UK. The labels are for people, to keep the facade of democracy alive. The parliament is one cohesive amalgam of corrupt insiders, disconnected plutocrats and narrow interests. The only objective is the enjoyment of power, national interest and security be damned.

I still believe the UK population is being taken for a wide-eyed ride.

Pro-EU peers and Moolah.
