Ambassador Khalilzad said in a Twitter post "We’ve concluded this round of talks with the Taliban in #Doha. I’ll be traveling to #Kabul later today for consultations."

Furthermore, Ambassador Khalilzad said "We are at the threshold of an agreement that will reduce violence and open the door for Afghans to sit together to negotiate an honorable & sustainable peace and a unified, sovereign Afghanistan that does not threaten the United States, its allies, or any other country."

The 9th round of peace talks between the U.S. and Taliban representatives kicked off nearly 10 days ago in the Qatari capital of Doha.

Earlier, reports had emerged that the U.S. and Taliban representatives have reached to an agreement on final draft of a peace agreement.

Counter-terrorism assurances, intra-Afghan dialogue, ceasefire and troops withdrawal are among the key issues the two sides have held extensive talks so far.
