| Taliban militants kidnap a member of Provincial Council from Samangan-Baghlan Highway |

| [KhaamaPress] The Talibs have kidnapped a member of the Provincial Council from Samangan-Baghlan Highway. Abdullah Mohammadi, a member of the Lower House of the Parliament confirmed that the Talibs kidnapped Syed Abdul Halim Sadat, a member of the Provincial Council of Samangan. Mohammadi further added that the Talibs also kidnapped three tribal elders together with Mr. Sadat. Furthermore, Mr. Mohammadi said the incident took place at around 10:00 am local time in Chashma-e-Sher area. He also added that efforts are underway to release the kidnapped Provincial Council member but there are no reports regarding the fate of the hostages.
