| #3 Just as I wouldn't cross any of those bridges to get into an urban area when SHTF, it would probably be a bad idea for those urban youts to venture the other way into a countryside of unfriendly civilian rangers who know the locals. |

| #2 In a number of the science fiction SHTF stories that I read , the military destroys the bridges and roads leading in and out of the cities. The ferals turn on each other and soon you have an empty city. |
