Syria shoots down a Russian military plane.
2019-07-01

[Microsoft Translation: Information In the northern part of Cyprus, a military plane belonging to Russia has been dropped by Syria... According to allegations, the plane was carrying 15 people... It is said that there are Russian writings on a piece found at the scene in Cyprus...]

Extremely toxic S-200 fired at Israelis misses and lands in N. Cyprus residential area. People are crawling over it.

#6  So in other words, there's no 'destruct' mechanism if a missile gets away from ground control and decides to take a scenic tour of the Mediterranean.

That or 'Ground Control' was too busy hightailing to another location and avoiding the morph into pieces of deceased organic material.

#5  An S-200 anti aircraft missile that targeted Israeli jets, exploded in mid air and it's bits fell over a 2 km radius, some 20km north of Nicosia, north Cyprus.

Cypriot PM Ersin Tatar has said nobody was injured in the pre-dawn explosion near the village of Tashkent. Maximum (effective) range for these missiles is 150-200 km. If it were fired off Latakia, Jableh, or any coastal point, a point within 2 km above the crash site would be within 210-230 km.

The 15 people were killed in a separate incident, an Israeli airstrike near Damascus and the central Homs province.

#3  Latakia is less than 100 miles from Cyprus, Frank.

#2  Cyprus? Do the Syrians have any directional abilities? S-200 range is 200KM (120 Miles). This would seem to be beyond its capabilities

#1  Fog of war. I look forward to discovering what it was before it landed so badly.
