2019-06-27
[MAIL] Attorney General Bill Barr wowed the crowd with his loud bagpipe performance on Wednesday before the Justice Department.

The 68-year-old took center stage with the NYPD Emerald Society pipe and drum band at the opening of the US Attorneys' National Conference in Washington D.C. to play the bagpipes as guests and officials applauded him.

He played the traditional bagpipe march 'Scotland the Brave' and received an uproarious standing ovation from the crowd afterwards.

#2  He comes by it legitimately. From the House of Names website:

It was in the Scottish/English Borderlands that the Strathclyde-Briton people first used the ancient name Barr. It was a name for someone who lived in Ayrshire, where the family was found since the early Middle Ages. It is generally thought to have been a habitational name, taken on from any of various place names in southwestern Scotland, in particular in Ayrshire and Renfrewshire. These place names derive from the Gaelic word barr, meaning "height," or "hill."
