Car explosion hits downtown Qamishli
2019-06-18
[Rudaw] A bomb went kaboom! in Qamishli, a city in Hasakah province in northeastern Syria, on Monday afternoon, according to Internal Security Forces of North and Northeastern Syria (NES), amid conflicting reports of injuries and human casualties.

"A car containing a sticky bomb detonated exactly at 1:47 PM today Monday afternoon, July 17, near the General Headquarters of Asayish Forces in Qamishli city. The damage was solely material, without registering any human losses," according to a statement from the Internal Security Forces media centre.

However,
death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate...
earlier reports allege that the earth-shattering kaboom caused both material damage and human casualties.

Hawar News, media close to the ruling Kurdish authority in Rojava, reported that the bomb detonated at 1:30 PM, on the north side of the Sony Roundabout, in the centre of Qamishli.

"Some people" were maimed, and surrounding properties were "severely" damaged. A mine was also diffused near the area of the earth-shattering kaboom, the outlet added.

State news agency SANA reported that there were dead and injured civilians due to the bombing in the Qaddour Bek residential neighborhood in Qamishli, without providing details.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a UK-based war monitor, reported that a van driven by a jacket wallah attempted to break into the General Headquarters of the Asayesh (security) Forces in the Sony Roundabout in Qamishli.

The van, failing to break into the headquarters, exploded outside, injuring 7 civilians including women and kiddies.

Qamishli is under the control of the local Kurdish led administration, and is considered the capital of the self-declared autonomous NES region.
An Nahar adds:
Kurdish-held areas of northeast Syria have been hit by a spate of bombings in recent months, many claimed by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group.

IS has vowed to carry out Dire Revenge attacks for the six-month offensive by Kurdish-led forces that culminated in March in the jihadists' ouster from their last bastion in Syria.

IS fighters retain a presence in Syria's vast Badia desert and various other hideouts, and still claim deadly attacks in territory held by the Syrian Democratic Forces.

According to the Observatory, hundreds of SDF members have been killed in attacks believed to have been carried out by IS sleeper cells since August.

#1  I'm sure Allah is taking note of every sticky bomb that goes off in his name and kills infidels. Rewards will be given to the perps in the afterlife because Allah always keeps his promises.
