| "We don't need your filthy lucre!" [WASHINGTONTIMES] Hugh F. Culverhouse Jr., a 70-year-old real estate investor and lawyer, had already given $21.5 million to the university after his pledge last September with the rest still to come. But in a news release last week, he urged students to participate in a boycott of the school. |

| #1 “The action taken by the Board today was a direct result of Mr. Culverhouse’s ongoing attempts to interfere in the operations of the Law School. That was the only reason the Board voted to remove his name and return his money. It was not really a gift but an attempt at bribery and coercion. UA does'nt make the laws in Alabama--Culverhouse, being a shyster, knows that--thus this is a grandstand play. |
