Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. He said he doesn't expect the international community to do a lot regarding the current fighting after its silence and inaction, confirming that Haftar's forces received weapons with regional countries supporting them with military equipment, including La Belle France, which reiterated support for the Presidential Council's government.
"Our forces' resistance to the attack surpassed all expectations. The government is now doing efforts to rebuild the Libyan army on correct principles with many steps taken in that regard, saying such work need political stability to reach a full circle." al-Juwaili further explained.
