Trump walks out of meeting with Congress leaders, demands end to Russia probes
2019-05-24
[DAWN] President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
abruptly stalked out of a meeting with congressional leaders on Wednesday with a flat declaration he would no longer work with Democrats unless they drop all investigations in the aftermath of the special counsel’s Trump-Russia report.

Democrats said the walkout seemed scripted. House Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House, It's not her fault when they lose, but it is when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... momentss...
called it all "very, very, very strange" and said she was praying for Trump and the nation.

After turning and leaving the three-minute non-meeting with the Democratic leaders, scheduled for a discussion of US infrastructure problems, Trump strode to the Rose Garden where aides had gathered news hounds and TV cameras for his demand that Congress drop its investigations that are increasingly leading to talk of what he called the "i-word" ‐ impeachment.

Trump assailed Pelosi in particular for her comment earlier in the morning on Capitol Hill that she believed the president was engaged in a "cover up" of the Russia probe.

#7  his body was dug up, hung, and decapitated

Omission of the vocative comma ("Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defil'd this sacred place") is not easily forgiven.

#6  Cromwell was a Puritan, starchy and stiff. We too, get a Congress of baboons in D.C. every now and then. At times one wishes they could all be tossed.

In my lifetime, I've never seen the likes of what happened with the DS cabal's attempt to take down DJT. The corruption cannot go uncleaned up and unprosecuted. Otherwise, we will be back where we were headed; a banana republic with no rule of law.

#5  Yeah, but he had the good sense to leave the North American colonies alone something those who took power after him failed to do. That and setting his country up for 'good luck' by permitting the resettlement of Jews and the first synagogue.

#4   Cromwell speech.

Cromwell had a grand funeral. When power changed after his death, his body was dug up, hung, and decapitated.

#3  These are the times I think about Oliver Cromwell's dissolution of the Long Parliament in 1653. His speech is interesting:

Speech
It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice; ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government; ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.
Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess? Ye have no more religion than my horse; gold is your God; which of you have not barter'd your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?
Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defil'd this sacred place, and turn'd the Lord's temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices? Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation; you were deputed here by the people to get grievances redress'd, are yourselves gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.

In the name of God, go!

Oliver Cromwell - April 20, 1653

Of course this is now and that was then and there are really not parallels here.

#1  the Dems were to work with Trump on an infrastructure proposal

which would, if it was completed, probably result in lots and lots and lots of earmarks for expensive projects
