Woodstock 50 Canceled | |

[ROLLINGSTONE] “We don’t believe the production of the festival can be executed as an event worthy of the Woodstock Brand name,” investors say Damn! I was looking forward to seeing Wavy Gravy again.

#8 Just more of the propaganda about the 60's. Woodstock was a drug infested, squalor and I never understood why it is so mythical. I talked to several friends who took off and went to Woodstock and they said it was a completely nightmare. The media looks to elevate the 60's when they nearly took down the Republic, turned over a highly strategic portion of southeast Asia to the Communists, and accelerated the consumption of drugs into the epidemic it is today. I still would like to know if anyone has ever investigated the source of the money that allowed all of those demonstrators to travel and stay in hotels and organize. |

#7 I know one of the founders of Burning Man. Years ago he emphasized to me the steps BM was taking so that it didn't develop "Woodstock Syndrome." Namely: a group of old LLC members waiting for each other to die so the last man standing can sell the IP for a fortune. If wonder if that's some of what we're seeing here? |

#1 ...I've seen a couple stories that suggested that this thing was well on the way to becoming another Fyre Festival, and the grownups in the room decided to cut their losses and shut it down before it got completely out of control. Mike |
