Prison wardens found the man, identified as Zaki Y.M. Hassan, hanged inside his solitary cell in Istanbul’s Silivri prison and launched an investigation into his death, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing Ottoman Turkish prosecutors.

The two men arrived in Turkey after Khashoggi’s Oct. 2 killing and were detained on April 15.

They confessed to spying for the United Arab Emirates.

Ottoman Turkish state media said the two were collecting information about Arab nationals living in Turkey and were trying to recruit people for a surveillance network.

Prosecutors in Turkey offered no details about Hassan, his age, or his nationality.

They didn’t identify the second suspected spy.
The Times of Israel adds:
The Kan public broadcaster named the man as Zaki Hasan and published a photo of what it said was his passport, which gave his place of birth as Ramallah.
An image of Mr. Hasan’s passport can be seen at the link, giving his birthdate as 15-06-1963, the date of issuance as 25-11-2018, and his profession as retired.

#2  Everybody uses Palestinians. They tend to be well educated, and so many of them fled the Palestinian territories sometime in the past three generations.
