#3 The Congo was fifty years from being ready for independence when the sniveling mob forced Belgium to cut them loose. I agree that King Leopold was a thug and tyrant of the first magnitude in the way the Belgian Congo was governed. The demon spawn of that premature independence is the genesis of most of the horrific violence in Equatorial Africa |
