| #1 ...As long as STRATCOM and the Hole are still functioning (and my understanding is that they are) transfer everything else and draw drown the Offutt facility to those two structures, to be renamed LeMay AFS. And it might be impolite to point this out, but nearly 30 years ago USAF generals gathered at something called CORONA (used to be actual planning; now an excuse for partying on the taxpayers' dime) and pronounced that nothing repeat NOTHING short of a WMD strike could knock out a USAF base. Since then we've lost: *Clark AFB PI to a volcano, *Myrtle Beach AFB SC, Tyndall AFB FL, and Offutt to storms. Karma is not only a biatch, she outranks those guys. Mike |
