Pope blames US, Europe for selling weapons in war zones
2019-04-07
[DAWN] Pope Francis has blamed Europe
...also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and the United States for selling weapons in war zones, fueling conflicts and causing victims in Syria, Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
and Afghanistan.

Speaking to students and teachers of Milan's San Carlo Institute on Saturday, the pope said that the reason why there are so many wars around the world is that "the rich Europe and America sell weapons ... used to kill children and kill people."

Francis also added that, without weapons, countries like Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan wouldn't be at war.
Right. It's the evil weapons that make them fight
The pontiff said that "a country that produces and sells weapons has on its conscience the death of every child and the destruction of each family. It's us that make a difference."

#13  Where Christianity flourishes there is usually peace. But Christianity seems to be a foreign topic to this fake.

#12  "The rich Europe and America" are what burns his candles and kiss his effing finger. Without them he'd be out of business.

#11  The Vatican is a lot closer to the source of AKs than Washington DC. Know what I'm sayin' Francis, you walking, talking jackass?

#10  Most of the weapons are Eastern Bloc - no mention of Russia and other former soviet bloc nations, as well as china.

Francis is an idiot. He seems oblivious to the fact that these tribal people have been killing each other for centuries, with swords and knives, long before the modern weapons came around.

#7  If there is any weapon that has facilitated numerous 3rd world wars, it is the ubiquitous AK-47.

Those did not come from any Western country. Red Jorge knows that.

#6  That's the lib position. I own plenty of weapons and I'm at war with no one.

#5   the pope said that the reason why there are so many wars around the world is that "the rich Europe and America sell weapons ... used to kill children and kill people.

Do you even know any actual people, Francis? Twenty Five years ago in Rwanda, a half-million or so people were massacred. No doubt there were Western firearms involved, but a good bit of the violence was done in the old-fashioned way - by hand. With machetes.

People are determined and resourceful. Do you honestly think that taking Western weapons will make violence go away? That people won't pick up the nearest thing handy and use it on the object of their anger?

I'm going to start calling this The Gun Grabber's Fallacy:
People kill each other with X.
If we remove all X,
then they will stop killing each other.

For a real-world example, see Britain were after guns were banned, people switched to knives. Expect to see pipes and other blunt objects become the instrument of choice after knives are gone.

#4  I seem ti recall that Cain killed Abel with a rock he picked up from the ground — no outside arms sellers needed.

#2  but are there no problems of an internal nature the Pontiff might wish to resolve before venturing outside the church ?

Or even his own compound.

#1  Yes, gun running is certainly a problem, but are there no problems of an internal nature the Pontiff might wish to resolve before venturing outside the church ?
