#1 ...This one will be easier to fix than Tyndall, though in the end just as bad. The Nightwatch force will have to be redeployed for a while, and that ain't gonna be easy. The tankers and other specialist birds will be able to operate somewhere else fairly easy.
Keep this in mind though - in the early 90s, the USAF leadership decided as a matter of policy that it is impossible to mission-kill a United States Air Force base with anything short of a nuclear weapon. Since then, we've had (in no particular order) Clark AB, Homestead AFB, Myrtle Beach AFB, Tyndall AFB, and now Offutt AFB go down from natural disasters.
