A senior Israeli official said the army has opened criminal investigations into the deaths of 11 Paleostinians killed by Israeli fire during protests along the Israel-Gazoo border over the past year. Israeli officials briefed journalists in Geneva on Wednesday to rebut allegations made in a UN Human Rights Council report last week that claims soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces unjustifiably fired on civilians and may have committed crimes against humanity in responding to violent protests along the Gazoo border. |
