Iraq Army attack results in scores of ISIS terrorists killed

Led by their 29th Brigade, the Iraqi Armed Forces carried out a massive assault on the Islamic State cells in al-Anbar as part of their border security initiative.

This massive attack by the Iraqi Armed Forces would result in the death of tens of Islamic State fighters and the destruction of several caches of weapons in western al-Anar.

International coalition kills eight Islamic State militants in Anbar province

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) – Eight Islamic State militants were killed Monday in an airstrike that was launched by the U.S.-led international coalition on a desert area in the Iraqi province of Anbar.

“Acting on accurate intelligence reports, the Joint Operations Command, backed by warplanes of the U.S.-led international coalition, targeted a gathering of Islamic State militants in the desert of Kabisa in the Hīt district of Anbar,” Al-Madar News quoted the Security Media Center as saying in a statement.

“The airstrike left eight IS militants dead,” the statement read, adding that an armored vehicle for the militant group was also destroyed in the operation.

Iraqi army destroys six IS tunnels, detonates 29 explosives in Anbar

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi army destroyed on Monday six Islamic State tunnels and detonated 29 explosive charges during a military operation in the western province of Anbar.

“The 7th infantry division of the Iraqi army launched a wide-scale military operation in the eastern and western parts of Wadi Hauran in Anabr province to track down Islamic State militants,” Almaalomah news website quoted the Iraqi Security Media Center as saying in a statement.

“The operation resulted in destroying six IS tunnels and three hotbeds, in addition to detonating 29 explosive charges,” the statement added.
