Winter Storm Watch for Seattle/Tacoma/Everette
2019-02-08
In most of the US this would not be a big deal but Seattle gets very few storm like this. Also they have a lot of fairly steep hills with parking on both sides so an accident can do major damage to traffic. Also Seattle is under deep lefty control so there are lots of homeless people downtown
[Wunderground] * WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 8
inches possible. There remains uncertainty in the details. A few
areas could see up to a foot of snow while a few other locations
may only see 2-3 inches. Windy conditions will develop late
Friday night into Saturday with north winds 15 to 30 mph and
gusts to 40 mph with local blowing snow possible. Temperatures
late Friday night through Saturday will fall through the 20s.

* WHERE...Seattle, Everett, Tacoma, Bremerton, Bellevue, North
Bend, Redmond, and Kent.

* WHEN...From Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon.
Heaviest snowfall accumulations are most likely Friday night
into Saturday morning.

#7  RE: #6 I'm stealing that from you USN, Ret! I know quite a few people I can try that on! :)

#6  told a native seattleite once during a snowstorm, while at the airport, not to worry about his flight because the ground crew was chaining up the aircraft.
he thanked me and appeared much relieved as he walked away

#5  my favorite is when they abandon their cars on the freeways and just start to walk. or just stop in their lane ,turn off the car and sit there.... I've driven on the sidewalks before to get around these ninnys who can drive even when it rains lightly, the term "adult" snowflake really apply's to the people of Seattle, Everett, and Tacoma.

#4  It's fun to watch the local news outlets go totally batsh*t crazy when we get a light dusting of snow. I am not kidding - an half-inch is enough to get them into a full frothing frenzy. Sending out reporters to the nearest 'steep hill' to show what a disaster it is.
One year Seattle decided that they were not going to sand or salt the streets. I think they were afaid the salt would get down into Puget Sound (a rather large body of... salt water). The results were, as you would expect, a disaster.

#3  one thing you can count on out here is, that as the storm approaches,at least one seattle tv station will interview ClydeClutchrider, chief tire chain installer for the metro busses and consume 4 minutes trying to get in his way as he slings chains. asking increasingly stupid questions about chains =; how long you been doing this? how long to chains last? how long to do the fleet?

and seattleites cannot get enough.
then they venture out onto hills that have been closed, only to slide and hit something with no idea how that happened.

dumbasses all of them.

#2  During the winter the lefties call this Climate Change. During the summer the call it Global Warming. They haven't come up with a tax justifying calamitous name for Fall or Spring yet.
