| [ELUNIVERSAL] Uruguay blocked a million-dollar transfer of Venezuelan assets that the government of Nicolás Maduro tried to carry out to that country from the Novo Banco de Portugal, assured on Tuesday the deputy Carlos Paparoni. The "transaction could be stopped, until now, thus protecting the resources of all Venezuelans, preventing them from being stolen," the politician added during a regular session of the National Assembly (AN). Paparoni indicated that Maduro tried to transfer almost 1.2 billion dollars to the offices in Uruguay of the República and Bandes banks. He noted that the Central Bank of Uruguay blocked the transfer and said that the institution will decide in the next few hours to report on the decision. |
