Large scale Taliban attack repulsed in the outskirts of Kunduz city: MoD |

[KhaamaPress] The Ministry of Defense (MoD) says a large scale Taliban ...Arabic for students... attack has been repulsed in the outskirts of Kunduz city in North of Afghanistan. According to a statement released by the Ministry of Defense, the Talibs launched a large scale attack on security posts at around 1:00 am local time which was repulsed by the security forces. The statement further added that the clash left at least 22 Lions of Islam dead and 18 others maimed. The Ministry of Defense also added that the security personnel have also suffered casualties during the clash but did not elaborate further regarding the exact number of the security forces who have bit the dust. In the meantime, the local sources and provincial council officials have said that more than 25 Afghan soldiers have also bit the dust in the attack. The anti-government armed bad boy groups including Taliban have not commented regarding the clash so far. Kunduz is among the relatively volatile provinces in North of Afghanistan where Talibs are active in some of districts and often attempt to carry out attacks against the government and security institutions. |
