The only part of "The Big Game" that I watched.

Ms. Knight is truly a National treasure:

#12  I liked the quip: Maroon 5, America 0.

#11  I like watching football. I always have. It wasn't always as political as it is now. I wish they could get back to just playing football and take the politics somewhere else. I think a high school marching band would have been better for halftime than that singer with his girlie voice and all the tattoos.

#10  Warthog,
Buddy and I caught the 4th quarter, 'cuz we had obligations and things just don't do things themselves.

We had a game - two games really - one, guess the penalty before the ball is snapped.

Second, name the commercial. That one with the cute little windmills, no gigantic concrete foot, no wake turbulence...winner was, 'Horses Breaking Wind'.

#9  I thought Maroon 5 promised some sort of edgy Kneeling-sympathetic thing but I didn't see it. Did they embed that tripe into the lyrics?

#8  I had a bad case of priorities. Too busy to watch it.

#7  +1 on Ms. Knight's performance.
-1 on the commercials.

In olden days, I'd see the Clysdales in either patriotic or heart-warming commercials that were just wonderful. This year we pan out showing the Clysdales on a windy road and the theme of the ad was Bud was now brewed using wind power. Really? If that wasn't bad enough, the next one (forgot who) was touting that the beer was organic. Several were featuring not being made with corn syrup.

What a bunch of snowflake, millennial crap.

One of my favs

#6  I am, and he certainly was. 'Maroon-5' was disgusting. (should have put a sarc tag on #4)

#5  Myron was really good, if you're in to that sort of music B.

My grandmother thought he was marvelous.

#4  Yes Deacon, they played all the oldies during the halftime show, impressive that.

#2  I watch for the commercials — usually there are loads that are memorable. This year the only one that really resonated was the one for the NFL itself, when all the champions over the years were gleefully charging at the game ball during the formal celebratory dinner, super-competitive sods that they are.

#1  The NFL made up a lot of ground with this Classy Performance. And she was Wonderful!
Just Wonderful.
And

We needed that.
