| Houthi forces launch new offensive in northern Yemen |

| [ALMASDARNEWS] The Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews... forces kicked off a new offensive in the eastern part of the Sanaa Governorate this afternoon, the Yemeni group’s official media wing reported. According to the Houthi forces, their fighters stormed the Saudi-backed troops inside the al-Qarn area of the Nihm District. The Houthi forces claimed that their fighters managed to capture several points in the Nihm District after they overran the front-lines of the Saudi-backed troops. Furthermore, the Houthi forces claimed that they killed and maimed dozens of Saudi-led troops during this afternoon’s offensive. The Houthi forces were previously on the defensive in the Nihm District as the Saudi-backed troops have repeatedly tried to capture the eastern part of Sanaa. |
