| ISIS suffers heavy losses in desperate counter-offensive in east Syria |

(ISIS/ISIS/IS/ISIS) launched a desperate counter-offensive in eastern Syria, today, after losing the key town of al-Shafah to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) the day before. ISIS reportedly began their counter-offensive during the wee hours on Friday morning, striking the defenses of the Syrian Democratic Forces at the southern axis of al-Shafah. However, the way to a man's heart remains through his stomach... the Islamic State’s bid to retake the town would fall short once again after suffering heavy casualties at the hands of the Syrian Democratic Forces and U.S. Coalition. According to reports from the front, the Syrian Democratic Forces were able to restore security at the southern axis of al-Shafah following the withdrawal of the Islamic State attackers on Friday. The Islamic State had previously reentered al-Shafah after launching a powerful attack on the town’s defenses earlier in the week; however, they would later be expelled by the Syrian Democratic Forces for the second time. |
